Hedonism II: Pros and Cons
Overview:
Hedonism II is a clothing-optional, adults-only, all-inclusive resort on the beach in Jamaica. It has been a legendary name in the swinger and lifestyle community for decades, known for its carefree atmosphere, sexual freedom, and open-minded culture. It draws visitors from all over the world, many of whom are regulars returning to the resort year after year.
We love this resort and it is a must-go for us every year. We find it to be a fun and relaxing atmosphere that may seem rather expensive at first look but is actually not that bad when you consider the all-inclusive price of the stay. The savings on drinks and food can really add up.
If you are into the swinger lifestyle then Hedonism II is a trip that you have to make at some point. The sexually charged atmosphere is pretty much 24/7 and you will see and experience things beyond your imagination.
Still, it might not always be the best choice for your first swinger resort experience. The atmosphere may be a little overwhelming for new swingers and the non-swinging activity options can be rather limited.

Pros of Hedonism II:
- Exotic Location:
One of the biggest draws of Hedonism II is its setting. Situated on a beautiful stretch of white sandy beach, surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, the resort offers a tropical escape that feels worlds away from everyday life. The laid-back island vibe, stunning views, and warm weather create a perfect environment for a liberating vacation experience. - All-Inclusive Packages:
Hedonism II operates on an all-inclusive basis, meaning that meals, drinks (including alcohol), and activities are included in the price. This makes budgeting simpler and ensures that you can focus on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about extra costs. For new couples who want everything taken care of, this can be a stress reliever. - Vibrant Party Scene:
The party atmosphere at Hedonism II is unparalleled. Themed events, foam parties, and pool parties run day and night. For couples looking to dive headfirst into a wild, playful environment, this resort delivers excitement at every turn. The energetic nightlife and entertainment can provide an exhilarating first taste of the swinger lifestyle. There is always something going on at the nude pool to either watch or participate in. - Established Reputation:
As one of the most well-known names in swinger resorts, Hedonism II has decades of experience in creating a space where couples can explore their fantasies and meet like-minded people. Newcomers can feel confident that they are stepping into an environment that understands and caters to the needs of the lifestyle community. - International Guest Base:
Couples who love the idea of meeting people from all over the world will appreciate the international appeal of Hedonism II. Visitors come from a wide variety of countries, giving you the chance to connect with diverse, open-minded individuals. - Wild Sexually Charged Scene: A visit to Hedonism II will fully expose you to a wide variety of swinger sexual experiences to view or participate in if that is your choosing. Sexual activity is very open and happens in the playrooms and frequently at the pools on the nude side of the resort.
Cons of Hedonism II:
- High Energy May Be Overwhelming:
For new swinger couples who are more introverted or just dipping their toes into the lifestyle, the highly energetic and fast-paced sexual party scene might feel intimidating. Some may find the constant stimulation and constant sexual fun overwhelming, making it harder to relax and ease into the experience. - Clothing-Optional Environment:
While the clothing-optional policy is a plus for some, it could be a con for couples who aren’t quite ready to be fully comfortable with public nudity. While the resort offers both nude and prude sections, most of the fun and excitement is happening on the nude side so if you are not comfortable there you will be missing out on most of the experience. - Remote Location:
Hedonism II is in Jamaica, which may require more travel planning and cost more compared to domestic options. Flights, passports, and international travel logistics add another layer of preparation. - Can Be Pricey:
While the all-inclusive package is convenient, the upfront cost of Hedonism II can be high. For budget-conscious couples, this might be a deterrent, especially if it’s their first foray into lifestyle travel. A stay at this resort can run you from $500 to $1000 per night plus airfare depending on the time of year you go. But remember that this is an all-inclusive stay, so you will not be paying for meals or drinks. - Limited Options for off-resort excursions: Let’s face it, most people go to Hedonism II for one reason and that is the sexual swinger fun. But if you want to explore the area, the resort does not offer much for off-resort excursions. There are some boat rides but not much else to do other than enjoy the swinger fun. We found that a week at the resort was a little too much as once we got our fill of the sex and partying, there was not much else to do. Since then we have limited our trips to five days to keep it fun and exciting.
Secrets Hideaway: Pros and Cons
Overview:
Secrets Hideaway is a swinger lifestyle resort located in Kissimmee, Florida, just a short drive from Orlando’s major attractions. It offers a less exotic yet highly engaging environment for couples looking to explore the lifestyle scene. Unlike Hedonism II, Secrets Hideaway functions more like a private membership club, with various event schedules and amenities tailored to lifestyle couples.
Secrets Hideaway offers sexual playrooms, clothing-optional pools and hot tubs, a fun nightclub, and overnight accommodations. The main difference between Hedonism II vs Secrets Hideaway is that the clothing optional part is more optional. At Secrets, you can be naked, clothed, or partially clothed in the pool area whereas at Hedonism II all the fun is at the nude pool where you have to be naked.
Additionally, at Secrets Hideaway most of the sexual activity occurs in the sexual playrooms while at Hedonism II it can be more out in the open. So you have more control at Secrets about what you are seeing and experiencing.

Pros of Secrets Hideaway:
- Convenient Location:
For couples living in the U.S., Secrets Hideaway offers a domestic option with easy access. Whether driving or flying into Orlando, getting to the resort is relatively hassle-free compared to international travel. Its proximity to major attractions like Disney World and Universal Studios also means you can easily combine a lifestyle trip with more traditional vacation activities. - Budget-Friendly Options:
Compared to Hedonism II, Secrets Hideaway tends to be more affordable. The ability to customize your experience with different membership tiers, day passes, or event tickets makes it easier for new couples to test the waters without committing to a full-on resort experience. This flexibility is a major draw for budget-conscious travelers. Rooms can range from $85 to $220/night depending on the time of year and day of the week. Flights into the Orlando area are very inexpensive compared to most destinations allowing you to have more money to spend on your lifestyle adventure. - Varied Event Schedule:
Secrets Hideaway hosts a wide variety of themed events, from pool parties and meet-and-greets to kink nights and erotic dance shows. This gives couples a chance to explore different aspects of the lifestyle, whether they want to keep things light and social or dive deeper into more adventurous territory. The variety allows newcomers to find what suits them best. - Comfortable for Newbies:
While Secrets Hideaway is welcoming to experienced lifestyle couples, it is also considered more approachable for newcomers. The vibe is often less intense than that of Hedonism II, offering a more relaxed introduction to the swinger community. This can make it easier for new couples to find their comfort zone and take things at their own pace. While this resort is clothing optional, you will not be out of place if you decide to keep your clothes on. During the day, there is probably a 50/50 mix of those who are naked and those who keep some sort of swimwear on at the pool so you can feel comfortable every day. - Flexible Accommodations:
The resort offers a range of accommodations, from basic rooms to suites, allowing couples to tailor their stay to their budget and preferences. Whether you’re looking for something more luxurious or just a simple space to crash after a night of fun, there’s flexibility. We do however suggest that you avoid the basic rooms at this resort as they have not been renovated and were of significantly lower quality than the themed rooms. If you can afford it and they are available, we highly recommend that you get one of the themed rooms that will you will see available on their website. - Plenty of Off-Resort Activities:
Located right in the Orlando area there is no shortage of off-resort activities to check out when visiting this resort. From Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld to some great shopping experiences, you will never be able to see all that the Orlando area has to offer.

Cons of Secrets Hideaway:
- Less Exotic Atmosphere:
Being located in Florida, Secrets Hideaway doesn’t have the same tropical, beachy appeal as Hedonism II. While the resort features pools and hot tubs, it lacks the stunning Caribbean views and island feel that many people associate with an exotic vacation destination but that Florida weather is sure nice in the winter. - Not All-Inclusive:
Secrets Hideaway does not operate on an all-inclusive basis, so you’ll need to pay for food, drinks, and certain activities separately. For couples who want a more streamlined, worry-free experience, this may be seen as a downside. In addition to your room expense, you will have a membership fee ($35/month for couples) plus an entry fee to the resort ($10 to $50 per night depending on the night). Any food or drinks that you buy will be in addition to this. When we spend a long weekend at Secrets, we usually find that room, membership, entry fee, and bar tab for food and drinks come out to around $350 per night. - More Local, Less International:
While Secrets Hideaway draws visitors from across the U.S., it tends to attract a more local or regional crowd compared to the international mix at Hedonism II. Couples looking to meet people from around the world may find the guest base more limited in terms of diversity. - Can Feel Less Private:
As Secrets Hideaway is located near a major tourist hub, there is less of a sense of isolation compared to Hedonism II. Some couples may prefer the remote, private nature of a beach resort far from home, while others may feel more comfortable being closer to familiar settings. - Membership Model:
Secrets Hideaway operates as a private membership club, which can feel more transactional to some. Unlike the all-inclusive, resort-style nature of Hedonism II, Secrets Hideaway may feel more like a local lifestyle club with a hotel, making it potentially less immersive for a full vacation experience. - Can Be Slow During The Week:
Secrets Hideaway is rocking on Friday and Saturday nights with a great variety of fellow swingers so that you can meet both locals and visitors. Thursdays and Sundays can be busy too but not at the same level as the weekend. Monday through Wednesday can be rather slow but you can still have a lot of fun but it is just more hit or miss. This is a little different than the 7 days a week fun at Hedonism II.
Our Recommendations for Hedonism II vs Secrets Hideaway For New Swinger Couples
For new swinger couples, both Hedonism II and Secrets Hideaway offer exciting opportunities to explore the lifestyle in different settings. Hedonism II provides an all-inclusive, high-energy, exotic experience with an international crowd, ideal for those who want to dive into a world of freedom and adventure. On the other hand, Secrets Hideaway offers a more accessible, budget-friendly option with flexible, approachable events, making it a great choice for those looking for a lower-pressure introduction to the lifestyle.
Our final judgment in the Hedonism II vs Secrets Hideaway debate is that if you are truly new to the swinger lifestyle and uncertain about the clothing-optional side of swinging then Secrets Hideaway may be your best choice.
You can plan a short three-day excursion to the Orlando area and check it out. A weekend trip to this Florida swinger resort is relatively inexpensive and is a great way to check out the swinger resort atmosphere. There are plenty of opportunities at this resort to really have some swinger fun and if it turns out that it really isn’t your thing it won’t be a wasted trip as there are tons of other fun things to do in the area.
If you are a little more certain about your foray into the swinger lifestyle, then a trip to Hedonism II has to be on your swinger bucket list. You will have the time of your life and will have experiences that you never will forget.
Both of these resorts are great and if you are into the swinger lifestyle, you will have a blast at both of them. Just that Hedonism II may be a little overwhelming for those who are new or unsure about the swinger lifestyle.
Meeting Up With Local Swingers
If a trip to Hedonism II or Secrets Hideaway is not in the cards right now there are some great ways to meet local swingers one-on-one or at local swinger events. These sites are SLS (SwingLifestyle) and AFF (Adult Friend Finder). We use these sites to meet the couples that we hook up with at the swinger clubs, swinger resorts, and sometimes just on our own.
SLS (SwingLifeStyle)
SwingLifeStyle.com
SLS is by far the biggest and most popular website for swingers. This is the website where Swinger House Parties and Swinger groups post all of their events.
This website is free to join and check out but you will need to upgrade to use all of the messaging functions. SLS (SwingLifestyle) is a must for swingers who will be attending events and is the number one site I would recommend.
Adult Friend Finder
Adult Friend Finder is quite different than SLS (SwingLifestyle). It is more geared toward making individual connections with other swingers and not toward meeting others at events or clubs. AFF users tend to post a lot more public pictures. We use AFF to set up one-on-one swinger dates outside of events.
Important Note To Male Maine Swingers
When my wife and I first started in the swinger lifestyle, we found all kinds of articles dealing with the fears and insecurities of women but very little for men. I found that with many swinger couples, the woman has the confidence and the swinger drive while the man has major worries that hold him back.
Erection Quality in the Swinger Lifestyle
Having fun in the swinger lifestyle is hard when you are worried about maintaining your erection. This was a problem that I had at one point. The libido was there and I wanted to perform but I could not get the erection that I needed.
If you have any concerns about erection quality, check out this article on at-home acoustic wave therapy. The Hollywood elite has used this type of revolutionary treatment for years. The Phoenix Device let me get rock-hard erections that gave me the confidence for the swinger lifestyle.
Penis Size and Male Insecurities in the Swinger Lifestyle
Like many men, I had some insecurities to deal with when I joined the swinger lifestyle. Read Male Swinger Insecurities for the story of how I overcame these fears.
One huge concern was with the penis size issue. Check out The Truth About Swinger Penis Size for information on this delicate subject. What is the average swinger’s penis size, does penis size matter to swingers, how to make your penis appear bigger, and how to make your penis bigger (yes, this is scientifically possible with a little catch).
